Sugar Comp

HIYAA, I havent written a blog in ages - mainly because of exams. But heres one now.

Sugar magazine is one of UK’s popular teen mag, and whilst I was browsing their website I saw a article about winning a “Job at Sugar Magazine” for one issue of the magazine. So I thought this would be a good opportunity get some work experience and see how a magazine office looks like. So there were 8 places – Editor, Fashion Editor, Picture Editor, Celebrity Editor, Writer, Web Writer, Beauty Editor and Designer; first I applied for the designer one, this is my cover

my friend let me use one of her pictures, thanks Arta – I thought I’ll have someone unknown so it can show off my creativity skills. I then applied for the editors’ role; I had to come up with 7 cover line 2 real life main cover line and other stories. I made them up from the top of my head: - the main cover line: Glees’s Dianna ‘Quinn’ Agron talk’s music, singing, Puck/Finn who’s the better kisser? Fashion hist lists everything to take you from day to night. 2 real life: the boil that blew up my face, my real life Bad Romance – with the boy everyone wanted. And the others were – Top Tips for a sizzling summer garden party, how to keep your summer make up fresh & funky. How to keep him on his toes – some sound ridiculous I know but that’s what kind of stuff norm ends up on the cover.

Few weeks passed and I just waited, I didn't think I would win the editors role but thought I might get a good chance for the designer role. THEN I get an email saying I'm short listed for the comp – I had no idea for while role though – then the next day I get the email saying I won the role for editor I was HAPPY but I was thinking why not for designer how good was the winners one?! I went onto Facebook and saw the entry, and not being a bitch it weren’t even all that it was hard to read the cover lines and everything was sooo kiddish. Oh well editor says the final YES/ NO.

On the 20th July 2010 it came the day for me to go to Sugar headquarters. The office is in central London behind the Primark in Oxford Street in the same building but just behind. I got there signed myself in went into some waiting room quiet lavish but nothing like Ugly Betty ‘Meade publications’ I got introduced to the people who worked there and then to Annie the editor I went to her office and she said hi and stuff and she was in a issue meeting so I would have to wait before I met her properly.

Whilst sitting on my own desk I had to start writing an editors letter which comes on the mag each month so I wrote and sent it to Annie. We had a meeting about the letter and as an editor we edited it. we went through the cover lines, tweaked some added new ones. Whilst editing the front cover I had the final say on what images would be good enough for the cover. Whilst there I saw that the editor does soo much editing through soo many articles and stuff also on the wall there were other magazines – the ones they are in competition with and what gifts they gave. Finally at the end of the day Annie and I took a picture for the magazine and some pictures of myself I also got interviewed about the experience some of the stuff they I did say were tweaked. I also was able to see 2 issues before it’s realised the September issue and October one the one I'm in.
It was all fun and a good experience. Btw I'm in the October issue of Sugar magazine, it’s got Taylor Momsen in the front the girl from Gossip Girl

JLS - Just a Lot of Skin

So my cousin saw my latest blog and I think she was kinda confused she says ‘you talk about Justin Bieber and not Marvin (JLS)’ and I'm thinking that is kinda true so here I go.
JLS – Oritse Williams (blak t shirt but hi colour is red), JB Gill(yellow), Aston Merrygold (blue) and Marvin Humes (green) – came first into the world of popular culture in 2008 when they auditioned for X – factor and charmed us with their rendition of ‘If I Ever’ Shai and their look; they won our hearts and came second to Alexandra Burke. I think they know so does the rest of the world that they were better off second as they seem to be wayyy bigger than her. With a huge fan base which can be seen on the official website (http://www.jlsofficial.com/gb/) and Facebook pages over thousands they are right now one of the biggest boy bands in the UK. They have reached number one twice with their debuting song ‘Beat Again’ and with their second single ‘’Everybody in Love’. They also had top 10 hit with ‘One Shot’, number one selling album – self titled and also a number one book, with another one coming out at the end of this year. And with a successful theatre tour done and dusted and a nearly sold out arena tour at the end of this year, their doing pretty good for themselves.
They are trying to make it into America – with the re-release of Everybody in Love, I think they might do it.
All the singing is going great but what up with their personal life?!
Rumours are going round that JB (yellow one) is going out with some dancer from the X Factor which he is able to keep out of the lime light unlike Marvin Humes (green one). His romance with The Saturday’s Rochelle who was in S Club Juniors; just came out near the end of the JLS tour, so many rumours on the last night of tour she came on stage – with or without the rest of the Saturdays we don’t know- but apparently the fans were booing. No offences that’s a bit sad – but it was a bit obvious something like that would have happened because they have such a huge female fan following. It may last it may not – I don’t think it will, but that is just my opinion. But with their relationship in the paper and media who knows very unlikely the relationship is going to last long but if it does well done to them.
According to their twitter account they are recording a new single and new stuff for their album or in the process of writing lyrics.

Bieber Fever

ITS OFFICIAL BIEBER FEVER HAS EXPLODED

Whilst listening to Radio 1 playing Baby, and having a special oh what’s accruing Bieber special I thought I should do a blog on him, and all the frenzy caused by him. He has nearly 1.6 million followers on twitter and over 2.3million fans on the official Facebook its mad isn’t it, he was found on you tube with fans before he was famous. Some find him annoying some love him and some are in between, well I'm the one who’s in-between, he has got some catchy songs and what not like Baby, One time and Favourite Girl, and has Usher behind him to make him famous and boost his music to a wider audience.

One of my mates hates him with a passion the other loves him. Today she bought his album My World 2.0 came out, and she actually went and bought it and asked for two posters, I couldn’t stop laughing my head off. But there is no point lying he does make ok music, is good in interviews ect but come on 3 year old girls crying because they love Justin is funny and crazy teens going mental over him that is just pure madness. I think most guys hate him probs because all the girls(most) love him, well I think that’s enough of Justin Bieber who “hates the cold” “hates being too hot”

Well HELLO.
this isn't my first ever blog but its my first ever personal blog.
i see a fellow blogger has put up a blog about Robert Pattinson and Kirsten Stewert-- and her disliking in them.
well i do agree in some things she says that KStew maybe not all that of an actress and RPatts may be too over rated well they both are... its the Twilight thing aint it? i am a fan ive read the books and that is before the film has come out. Movies will never be better than the books but they could have added more stuff from the book, for instance in the movie New Moon having an aura thing of Edward --- why did he have to be on screen? couldnt just be his voice or something and the second book was meant to be more about the wearwolves but NOOOOOOOO they were hardly even in it what was the point. well in the thrid enstalment Eclipse there should be more Jacob (Taylor Lautner), who is better to look at and probs better at acting too. Well thats enough for now but I'll be Back cyaaaaa
